The Beauty of Light (and an Awesome Lamp Transformation.)

There is something about the beauty of light.  The sun setting across an ocean (and my feeble attempt to capture the moment in a photograph), fireworks, Christmas lights and the glow of the flame of a candle all reach us in a way that is difficult to put into words.  Lighting plays an important role in our homes and most designers know that a well placed lamp or unique lighting fixture can pull a whole room together.

Kristi from Addicted 2 Decorating knows a thing or two about lighting, herself.  In addition to being a busy interior decorator, DIYer and blogger, she also possesses the coveted creative gene.  Kristi started off with this basic builder's grade goldy...

...and transformed it into this fabulous lighting fixture.  (Such a beautiful light pattern.)  One of my favorite DIY projects so far!
