Dirty Laundry

I'm usually not the type of person to air my dirty laundry, but something must be said. A few days ago a member of our household stopped working. (Deader than a doornail.) It was none other than our tiny, ancient washing machine.
Not quite this ancient.

The initial problem was that the washer wouldn't spin/rinse the water out of the clothes. So I ended up doing a few loads (a comforter and mattress pad included!) in which I had to ring each garment out by hand. It was tough and tedious work. (I swear I have man hands now.)

After ringing out about three loads the washer finally went belly up. And since I refused to ever step inside a laundromat again (after a traumatic encounter with a fellow wearing no pants) we are buying a new one.

Now to the hard part. There are so many styles and features to choose from.

I can choose fancy designs or colors.

I can have steam cleaning and wash much bigger loads. (Love the color!)

I can go green literally. (And Kelly Ripa will do my laundry.)

Once I started looking at washers I started seeing all kinds of fab laundry rooms. (We don't really have a laundry room ourselves, the space is more like a hybrid between a cave and a short walkway.)

Let there be light! I absolutely LOVE the big window in this laundry room. The double washers and dryers aren't too shabby either.

What about this swanky room? Doing laundry here might actually be fun. (maybe)

Back to the discussion (one person monologue) about washing machines. I'm sending out a personal plea to all of blogland for info. If you love your washer, please let me know which brand and model. Conversely, if you have problems with yours then let me know that, too so I can avoid it (not make the same mistake you did).

I thank you in advance for your help. Wish me luck!

These cupcakes have absolutely nothing to do with washing machines. I just want one.
