Well, I'm still only half way done with the dresser. There is sanding, distressing, glazing and finishing left to do. I'm so excited about how it's turning out so far that I wanted to share some pictures.
Remember how it looked before? I like the cobweb still hanging from the bottom.
With the new paint I notice so many more details as well as every imperfection.
I replaced the knobs. Found these at Hobby Lobby half off.
I'm really diggin' it!
Birds are quite popular right now. You see them on everything throughout blogland. Furniture, pillows, lamps, figurines, prints and linens. I have decided to jump on the birdie bandwagon myself and put birds on things.
Here is a video clip I came across that ties into the bird craze perfectly.
A bird cutout on the dresser--pretend it's painted on.
My version of the bird figurine--a duck with an umbrella.
The picture of the bird was actually a gift bag from Hobby Lobby. I cut it out and put it in my daughter's frame. (I had to cover up her baby picture. Shhh!) It's amazing what a well placed accessory can do when you put a bird on it.
