St. Patrick's Day--What?

It's St. Patrick's Day! (And Spring Break!) I decided to decorate a little for the holiday this year.

I found the perfect sized brass pot at Goodwill.

After a few coats of black spray paint and some "gold" coins I had my own pot of gold. I was so excited with my St. Paddy's Day decor. A few minutes later my husband came into the room, saw the pot and said, "What IS this?" My reply: "It's obviously a festive pot of gold for St. Patrick's Day--Duh!" (Well, I didn't really say, "duh" but I thought it.) A few minutes later my daughter came into the room and said the exact same thing! Whoa, What?? So I guess my attempt at St. Patrick's Day decor fell a little flat. (I can always use the pot for a culdron next Halloween, right?...)

The gold coins were nearly impossible to find and expensive! sigh. I'm so glad I found them though since the pot of gold was such a hit! (insert fake laugh here)

I finally decided to just decorate with the holiday colors. Coconut M&M's--Yay! (My family ALWAYS responds to food related decor--maybe I'll try green eggs and ham.)
